Its finally here… the wait for the 12th ICC World cup is almost over. Once every four year, all cricket playing nations come together to compete at highest level and claim their hands on the “World Champions” tag for the next four years. The world cup starts on 30th May spanning over 45 days and 48 matches with the final being played on 14th July. ICC released a list of official broadcasters for WorldCup 2019 in every country/region. Sling TV
Sling TV is one of the official partner of Willow TV (which owns broadcast and streaming rights in USA). You can subscribe to Sling’s International Sports package (priced at $5 per month for the first month) to watch willow TV channels live.
Sling TV has the lowest subscription cost ($5/month for 1st month and $10 afterwards) and the best support for devices across various different mobile and platforms: Apple TV, iOS, Android TV, XBOX, Chrome TV, Fire TV, Roku etc. They also feature ‘Willow TV Extra’ channel which streams live matches if there are more than one matches being played simultaneously. They have a 7-day free trial when you sign up. This is indeed helpful if you want to checkout the streaming quality before committing to the subscription. Their annual package costs $45/month. If you intend to watch cricket after world cup (Ashes 2019 in August), you could sign up for the annual package which brings down the subscription cost to $4/month. Hotstar USA
Hotstar USA too owns streaming rights for World Cup 2019 in USA. Their subscription plans start from $19/ month or $6/month (if subscribed annually). It includes all STAR channels, Star Original content along with sports content (including kabaddi, hockey etc). Their app is currently available on Apple TV, chromecast, Roku, iOS, Samsung TV and Android devices. Their support for devices is not as extensive as Sling, so do check out if your device is supported before subscribing to it.

Willow TV
Willow TV’s subscription costs $10 per month (in US) and includes support for iOS, Android and Windows 8 app. You can alternatively also choose to use their app on roku, chromecast, Samsung TV, Google TV or many other IPTV platforms. The stream quality is HD with pretty good reliability. Their streaming quality is quite good and reliable. They, however, do not have easy cancellation option online and one has to reach out to them via email/phone to cancel the services. Willow has partnership with almost all of the TV providers in USA (Dish, Direct TV etc). If you are already subscribed to any one of them, you can add Willow TV channel at a premium ranging from $3 to $15. My two cents:
- Sling TV with International Sports package is the best deal to watch World Cup 2019. It will cost you $15 for two months and they have the best streaming quality among its competitors. Sling TV also offers support for a wide range of devices. You can try it for 7 days before committing to the subscription.
- WatchESPN does not have rights for World Cup 2019 this year.
- If you have a VPN subscription already, you could subscribe to HotStar India at $4 / year and watch it using your VPN.
